A beauty pageant finalist from Co Down who was too afraid to sing in school after being bullied has told how she is helping other young women reclaim their voices and speak up for themselves.

Rainer Nelson (22), who will be competing in the Miss Great Britain regional final in June, was just nine when bullies in her class left her too “humiliated and scared” to sing and struggling to get her words out in public.
