Down boss Ronan Sheehan keen for more discipline in Joe McDonagh Cup bid
Down hurling manager Ronan Sheehan is more than happy with his team’s first round win over Meath in the Joe McDonagh Cup but is urging greater discipline when Kerry form the opposition at Austin Stack Park, Tralee on Sunday (1pm).
In totting up 3-24 against Meath’s 0-25, Down exhibited their scoring skills but tended to concede too many frees which led to the visitors’ sharpshooter Padraig O’Hanrahan helping himself to 16 of his side’s total, the vast majority of his scores coming from frees.
